Bend Planning commission will conduct a public hearing at 5:30, Monday April 23 on the proposal to amend the Bend Development code and allow residents to add Accessory Dwelling Units, sometimes called "mother-in-law apartments" but not include sidewalks on the property.
At a time when neighborhoods are asking for more sidewalks to fill the gaps, and advocates for the disabled are fighting for accessible streets, the City is considering exempting property owners from the requirement to create a sidewalk to connect a Accessory Dwelling Unit to the main sidewalk.
This public hearing is set for 5:30 April 23 at City Hall.
