The culmination of the 2-year Civic Equity Project was celebration of growth and accomplishments for the BANA board and the other 10 community organizations that participated in the training and strategic planning. Organizations shared what they learned and how they attained goals at a celebration last month.
Funded by the Meyer Family Foundation, the Civic Equity Project provided coaching and training for a dozen community organizations. The aim was to make groups like the Boyd Acres Neighborhood Association more effective at community engagement and advocacy.
BANA expanded the board, sponsored several presentations on current topics including a transportation forum, and advocated for the needs of residents in the Boyd Acres neighborhood.
BANA hosts general membership meetings with interesting speakers about every other month. Alternate months are board business meetings. Those are open to the public as well. Meetings are the second Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. at the Elks Lodge, 63120 Boyd Acres Rd.
