Beginning this spring, five new sand volleyball courts will be constructed at Pine Nursery Park, south of the dog park. BPRD is providing the land at Pine Nursery Park, and NPJ will construct, maintain and operate the courts. Two of the five courts will be available for drop in public use at all times, except during tournaments. The remaining 3 courts will also be available to the public when not being used for programmed activities by NPJ or BPRD. Construction of the courts is scheduled to conclude in May, however, the courts will be closed until the Governor’s COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.
After a decade of use, the four sand volleyball courts located adjacent to the Les Schwab Amphitheater have closed. Through a partnership, North Pacific Juniors (NPJ) Volleyball Club and Bend Park and Recreation District are working together to bring sand volleyball courts back to the community.
For questions about the construction or operation of the courts please call or email Adam Ellis with NPJ. More information about NPJ is available on their website.
BPRD is grateful for the collaboration with NPJ, and is excited to offer sand volleyball opportunities to the community.
