Boyd Acres Neighborhood Association Board Meeting Minutes 5 pm Monday October 9, 2017

Elks Lodge,

 

In attendance: Chair Don Leonard, Secretary Larry Kierulff, Vice Chair Joette Storm, Land Use Chair Jim Beauchemin, at large board members Jeff Silverman, Matt Bryant and Cindy King, Other attendees numbered 22 per signup sheet.

 

Don L opened the meeting asking Jim B to introduce speaker Robert Bryant, ODOT Region 4 Manager. Mr. Bryant introduced Della Mosier of ODOT and presented the status of the US97 Cooley midterm project and other ODOT projects in Region 4. House Bill 2017 earmarking 50 million state dollars for the Us97 Cooley intersection has provided a chance of leveraging that for 150 million federal dollars to complete most of the US97 Bend North Corridor project by 2025. The grant to be decided Spring 2018 will depend on considerable private and local funding sources. Q and A included enthusiasm for light rail as part of the larger project and concern that the congested US97 Empire Intersection is being ignored. Website links for the Cooley project is :

Following the guest speaker, Joette S described BANA’s involvement in the Civic Equity Project, Move Bend and requests from the Mayor for neighborhood associations to present collectively 2 priorities for City Council next year along with interest in a more formal advisory role to the City. Jim B. reported 1 land use meetings involving a short term rental and 2 future meetings involving industrial zone construction in October.  Cindy K reported BANA plans to have a table at the Rock Ridge Park Grand Opening, After reporting on the Charter Review Committee, Don L. announced a coffee klatch TBD and a November meeting hosting City Manager Eric King. The meeting adjourned at 7 pm.
